Two fashion designers
The two designer friends have always supported and motivated each others work. Because of their enthusiasm for each others’ work whilst being in separate countries, the two designers wanted to create an online space where they can showcase their personal designs alongside with their fun collaborative Gelmo-Ulana project where creations are made by merging their two unique aesthetics.
Ulana Kejzerko
British-ukrainian designer Ulana Kejzerko born in Leicester, England and graduated in Middlesex London (with Gelareh), she is now based in Barcelona, Spain.
Ulana focuses on using preloved lace fabrics. She plays with the juxtaposition of using the light feminine fabric with punk style, sportswear inspired designs creating a fusion between the fabrics and design ideas.
Beyond crafting garments, Ulana's brand aspires to make a meaningful impact. Her vision extends to not only producing sustainable, ethically crafted pieces, but also to raising awareness about diverse eco-friendly themes. As the brand evolves, Ulana envisions a dynamic future, where wearable art coexists with a platform for designers, collaborative endeavors, eco and social conscious discussions.
Gelareh Mofazali
Iranian designer Gelareh Mofazali born in Isfahan,Iran and graduated from Middlesex University London. She is now based in London, England.
For Gelareh, gel.mo embodies a fusion of personal narrative and experimentation, drawing inspiration from her experience as an Iranian woman, navigating the complexities of an oppressive society by inviting the viewers to engage in a delicate dance of concealment and revelation. Having playful burst of colours, intricate layers and garment deconstructions.
Gel.mo aspires to be more and more conscious and sustainable by using dead-stock, up-cycled materials and creating limited quantity and one-of-a-kind pieces.
